Eco Committee
Welcome to our Eco page – where you can meet the team!
Our ‘Eco-Committee’ meet up once per month. They are very devoted and understand the importance of promoting the ‘Eco-Code’ for our school.
Our current focus is helping our wildlife. The Eco-Committee always make sure that our bird feeders are topped up with food, especially during the colder months. We also have several bug hotels and nesting boxes placed around our school grounds.
We are also working on a project, where the children will be planning, designing and creating their own bird feeders using recycled bottles, these will then be placed around our school. We will share these on our page when they are finished!
The Eco group also give up part of their lunch time once a week to do litter-picking around school which helps to keep Straits clean and tidy!
We have a lot of great ideas that we would like to implement over the course of the year, so keep a look out for these on this page.
