  • October Newsletter

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

Our October newsletter is available from our Newsletters page.

I can hardly believe we’ve reached half term! It’s been great to chat to so many of you this week at parents’ evenings and listen to your thoughts and suggestions about the school. Thank you also to those who attended our fundraising meeting last Thursday and those who have signed up to help at one of our events. Just a reminder that we will switch to our winter uniform after half-term.

  • Flu Vaccinations

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

On Friday 21st October, we will be visited by the NHS schools vaccination team to offer the flu vaccine to all eligible children in Reception to year 6. The nasal flu vaccine is painless, quick, and side effects are uncommon and generally mild.

You can now complete consent for your child online – please see the Parenthub message sent on 23rd September which provided the link to the online consent form or access this via our newsletters page on the school website. (Please also complete it if you are declining the vaccination for your child.)

  • School Photographs

    Wed 12 Oct 2022

On Wednesday 12th October, Digipix will be attending the school to take your child’s photograph. The company have informed us that they will take a group ‘sibling’ photograph for those families with more than one child in school and an individual photograph for everyone else. The ‘proof’ of your family/child’s photograph will be sent home the following day and you can then order online with your completed order sent to your home address.

  • Parents Evenings

    Mon 10 Oct 2022

Parents’ Evenings will be held on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th October from 4.00pm until 7.00pm.  Bookings for this event will go live on Monday 10th October and we ask that appointments are booked in this week. Discussions with your child’s teacher will take place in their classroom (children are welcome to join you at this appointment) and Mr Freear and Mr Wade will be available in the hall - they will also be joined by some of our Governors, the school nurse and there will be an opportunity to buy uniform. Alongside this our catering firm will be sharing samples of some of the food they offer – please pop in to say hello.

  • Hello Yellow Charity Day

    Fri 07 Oct 2022

Charity Day (Young Minds and Birmingham Children’s Hospital)

Monday 10th October is World Mental Health Day ( known as #HelloYellow day) and we will be taking part by inviting our pupils to wear something yellow alongside their uniform (this could be a yellow t-shirt, jumper, hairband, skirt, shorts… you can choose!) The purpose of this day is to show young people that how they feel matters, and help us create a future where all young people get the mental health support they need. As part of this day we are asking that you would kindly make a donation of £1.00 (given to your child’s class teacher) and we will share these funds between Young Minds and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

  • Harvest

    Thu 06 Oct 2022

Our Harvest assemblies will be held next week on Thursday 6th October. We will be joined by Paul Wilmott and his puppets and will be celebrating this event through two assemblies. As always we would like to make contributions to local charities. If you would like to make a contribution (which we will donate to the Black Country Food bank) then please send items (tins, packets, boxes etc…) into school next week where we will display them in the hall ready to share at our assembly.
