Welcome to Year 3
Hello from Mr Jones, Miss Cartwright, Mrs Harper, Mrs Hill, Mrs Baker and Mrs Riley-Payne.
We have many exciting curriculum opportunities planned for the term ahead including a visit to Kingswood where the children will be learning more about the Stone Age.
P.E
P.E. Days for Mr Jones' class will be Wednesday and Thursday (swimming)
P.E. Days for Miss Cartwright's will be Wednesday and Thursday (swimming)
Swimming
As part of the national curriculum for PE, your child will begin swimming lessons this year in Year 3. We will be alternating which class goes swimming each half term. Children in 3J will be doing their swimming lessons in Autumn 1, Spring 1 and Summer 1. 3C will be doing their swimming lessons in Autumn 2, Spring 2 and Summer 2.
- The first lesson for 3J will be on Thursday 10th September (no lesson in the first week).
- The first lesson for 3C will be on Thursday 5th November.
Homework
Reading: Every child will be encouraged to read up to 3 times a week. (Books changed as required)
Spellings: A set of spellings will be sent home each week on a Friday and tested the following Friday.
Maths: My Maths weekly activity (tasks set each Wednesday)
