Autumn Term - Natural Disasters

In Autumn term, we found out about many different natural disasters, including how they are formed, where they are most common and how people plan to protect themselves from them. We also looked at different case studies of famous natural disasters that have happened around the world and throughout history.

During this topic, we designed and built an earthquake-proof structure, using our learning about foundations and shock absorbers. We enjoyed testing our 'buildings' and many of them survived a terrible earthquake.

We also enjoyed planning and presenting a news report in English, where we reported 'live from the scene' about the Indian Ocean 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.
