On 14th March 2016, everyone at Straits celebrated Vaisahki, the Sikh festival that remembers the harvest and celebrates new year.
To explore the festival, we discussed the five core values of the Sikh khalsa and then we reflected by thinking about some of the values that we use in our daily life. We then made a promise to use one of the values e.g. not to lie, to be kind to our friends, to be nice and caring towards our family etc.
We looked at the different ways Sikh people celebrate Vaisakhi and we then celebrated the festival by creating and performing our own Bhangra dances. We even used musical instruments in our performances!
Well done to the whole of year 4 today- you were all so respectful!
