Creating Carbon Dioxide

Year 4 enjoyed creating a gas in our Science lesson this week. We mixed bicarbonate of soda and vinegar in a latex glove and observed what happened. Take a look at our investigation pictures below:

Exploring our local habitat...

 

In Science this week, Year 4 went up onto the school field to investigate our local environment. We looked in the trees and observed mini beasts in their habitats. We worked in groups to investigate leaf types, names of trees and used a leaf identification sheet. We also measured the circumference and height of trees in order to calculate the age of the trees. Some of us even had a go at creating bark rubbings.

Creating our own creatures...

In Science, 4KJ have been looking at how animals adapt to their environments in order to survive. During one of our lessons, the children had to design their own 'creative creature' and explain how it has adapted to its environment e.g. thick fur to keep warm in the winter, bushy tail to get rid of flies etc.
