28.6.19 - Sports Day Fun!
What perfect weather for our Sports Day. The children enjoyed participating in the sprint race, and either the hoop race or egg and spoon race.
5.6.19 - A visit from the 'Animal Lady'
We had a special visit from the 'Animal Lady' today. She brought in 'Mini-beasts' and 'Woodland Animals' which linked to 'Our Wonderful World' topic.
Little Owl Farm Visit - 10.05.19
During our trip to Little Owl Farm we bottle fed piglets and lambs, and fed special pellet food to the sheep and goats. We went on a walk around the farm to look at the ducks, geese, sheep, goats, chickens, rhea and alpaca. We had lots of fun on the tractors and in the sand pit. Finally we got to meet the chicks, a bearded dragon, a rabbit and a chinchilla. We talked about how to care for them and what they liked to eat. Phew! What a busy day, we learnt so much!
The eggs have hatched!!
Welcome to our new additions in foundation.
The children have been busy learning about the hen life cycle and have loved watching the eggs hatch into baby chicks.
22.03.19 – St Patrick’s Day.Today the children learnt about St. Patrick’s Day. Foundation made Irish flags, hats, leprechaun masks, St Patrick day cards and shamrock pictures.
21.03.19 – Today we celebrated Holi.We have learnt about the Hindu festival of Holi. We enjoyed making a canvas with lots of beautiful colours. The finished pieces of Art are to be displayed in the hall for us all to enjoy.
World Book Day - 7.03.19
Reception children enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day today. Thank you parents, they look amazing! Year 3 very kindly came to read stories to our children.
Pancake Day 5.03.19
Mrs. Harris, a member of a local church, came to school to teach the children how important Shrove Tuesday is for Christians. The children then had fun participating in pancake races and pancake tasting.
7.2.19 - Chinese New Year
We had lots of fun celebrating Chinese New Year! We tasted Chinese foods, made a Chinese lantern, joined in a dragon dance, made masks, role played the story of the Chinese New Year and much more. We had a wonderful day and we learnt lots of new things.
In Foundation we celebrated Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of light. We talked about how Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah and the children looked at Jewish artefacts and played dreidel.
