Our trip to the Wyre Forest!
What a fabulous day had by all! We have had a fantastic time exploring the forest and investigating all things nature! The children took part in lots of activities from measuring trees, exploring how old trees are using weird and wonderful methods, creating a range of artwork using natural materials and learning lots about woodland animals, whilst also searching for the Highway Rat and the Gruffalo's Child. It was also very exciting as we all got to have an indoor picnic together (which some children couldn't wait for)! We have spent all day in the outdoors and I'm not sure about the children, but the staff will certainly sleep well tonight!
A very big well done to all of the Year 1 children as their behaviour was brilliant all day. We are very proud of you all!
World Book Day!!Today we have been celebrating World Book Day. Thank you to all the parents for their amazing costumes. They all looked fabulous. This afternoon we joined with Year 3 to share our favourite stories. It was lovely to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic. They have had a wonderful day and have even made some new friends across school. Well done!
We had a lovely morning visiting our local church, St.Andrew's. The children learnt lots of new facts and vocabulary linked to Christianity. We also had the opportunity to ask questions about various artefacts. The visit was a great way to begin our in-depth study of Christianity and to learn all about how and why Christians go to church as part of their worship.
We would like to say a big thank you to all staff at St.Andrew's Church for making us feel very welcome, and for helping us to develop our own knowledge and understanding in preparation for our R.E. work. Thank you!
Our Special Visitor!
Year 1 had a wonderful morning yesterday, meeting a range of woodland animals. The children were so brave (the teachers tried to be) and were very excited to hold animals such as a lizard, a snake and a tarantula! We learnt lots of new facts which will help us in our writing over the next few weeks. Take a look below at our photographs!
